Owner Serge Hebert Healey 100 series BN 1L - chassis N° 227499 version US - Vernon Dép Eure - France Serge : It is about time to prepare the various body elements .Already Scraped thez are put together on the “waiting” list. Didier : Good morning Serge I can see you are back in business full with motivation !

Serge : Next step will be sprying and hand pumicing .... Didier : Oh la la … It looks like a real mess ! |
Picture #40
Serge : The dash has been prepared in glossy black first in order to have in fine. The intruments area in silver. Didier : We are l in a NIGHT CLUB or what ? |
Picture #42 |
Serge : In order to get a super result Laurent Lecacheux has covered the dash in silver than the whole dash in black . Finally he will use a gentle emery-paper until he gets the silver color back ... In such a way he will have no traces between the two colors . Didier : Beautiful Job , Laurent |
Picture #43 |
Serge : In fact Laurent could have spent few more hours on the dash to get an even better job but I consider this result as perfectly satisfying , and even a bit too “bright” , because of the possible reflexion in the windshield ...BRAVO .. Didier : We can see how fine it is to get the silver coating back , It is almost “fine art” Isn’it ? |
Picture #44 |
Serge : And now let’s be serious . Rear shroud gets the first spraying Didier : Yes ... Be serious |
Picture #45 |
Serge : .. as well as the rear wings.. Didier : Ah Ah .... The 100’s wings , the drawing comes directly from Gerry Coker himself in the presence of DMH , we can see Gerry (thanks to the contribution of John E homonek II) on page “contributions,Austin Healey-100/6-BN 7-3000§others...” on this web site |

Serge : In the meantime , it is a patient and not very gratifiyng which has to be done . The Big Healey History is clearly writtened on this topic to draw our careful attention on it . Didier : Yes indeed it is necessary to prevent th heat to come into the car especially on the left side. |
Picture #47 |
Serge : To day is first february 2007 ... In fact the road test have still to be done ..... New radiator and new wheels. Didier : |
Picture #48 |
Serge : S. Sorry Didier for the 48 “ wheels I know you liked them very much but we could saved only 3 of them and the décision had to be taken , between a new set of 48 or 60 or 72 spokes Finally I decide in favor of 72 for various reasons . So be it !! Didier : OK I understand. |
Picture #50 |
Serge : As soon as we are through with this we will take care of the fuel cap location ... as it seems so logical to put it here and give Laurent green light to go ahead in action .... Didier : Good point to put this fuel cap outside . |
Picture #51 |
Serge : ......Unfortunately the hole where hole there is now is not at the right place , in other words ....Sorry for Laurent and for the hole which have to be moved slightly on the side. We are happy to have realise the problem now and not when everything is ready finished and paint .... Didier : |
Picture #52 |
Serge : Finally the cap will be positionned in such a way to have the top standing up when filling the tank. Didier : GLUP!!!!!! |
Picture #53 |
Serge : The cap chosened is the Aston model one . More “discret “ than the other one more” competition look” , with the key system inside the Aston is perfectly secured ... More , for the “purist” this modification can be reversed.. Didier : This is most probably an idea to be followed by others ...
Picture #54 |
Serge : The rear shroud is now in its place ..With the new cap ..... Didier : Bravo Serge for this” fuel cap story”.... Serge : OK Do not be kidding ! I am just trying to help .... |
Picture #55 |
Serge : Notice how all the elements seems to fit each others easyly. They have got old together and they match eath other with coherence . This do not minimise the work achieved by Laurent of course . Didier : |
Picture #56 |
Serge : Just for the “pleasure” the rear wing is presented on the shroud ....To follow ....... Didier : See you soon on this Web site for the next steps of this superb restoration of Serge Hébert. ET C'EST EN FRANCE
